Yes, I am writing two posts in one day due to the excess amount of happiness/thoughts inside of me right now.
For one, this has been the most amazing Sunday. So many of my prayers were answered today which I won’t share but its the most amazing feeling ever.
For two, I just got the sweetest message from a boy. I went hot tubbing last night and wore a plain brown one piece. I wear bikinis occasionally, mostly on family trips or when I am just around my close friends but generally I TRY to wear one pieces. I most definitely prefer bikinis… and its a struggle for me to NOT wear them, I lovvvvve bikinis.. not so much one pieces. But I try my hardest to always wear one pieces to help boys have clean thoughts and just to respect my body, etc. (sometimes I don’t though, I am not perfect.)
So anyways, lately I have been wanting to buy all these bikinis and thinking, “eh it doesn’t really matter, I mean I have a boyfriend anyways.. so its not like I will be attracting the wrong kind of guys, I already have a great guy, plus no one cares anymore what swim suit you wear.”
Well, then I got this sweet message from a boy who was at the hot tub, (whom I don’t know):
“Hey,
I just wanted to say thank you for being modest at the hot tub last night. I just want to make sure you know how much it’s appreciated, because it really is! I don’t know if girls get told enough when they’re doing the right thing.”
I have to tell you that the photoshoot you did in the big floppy hat and the blue one piece is a HUGE reason I decided to search for a one piece suit. I too have always worn bikinis and I also prefer them since I have a long torso. Oh and not to forget the mara hoffman suit you had! So between you and my niece elsa, I am going to be modest…beause its hottest!

You should post some good modest one pieces. I am the same as you. I am married and like bikinis but around children and in the future when I have my own children I want to wear one pieces around them. But with my husband and stuff I wear bikinis. Anyway…just thought it would be fun if you could share some of your one pieces.

I have a lot of bikinis and I wear them all the time (so I’ve never thought of the bikini thing the way you do) but in general, the way I dress, especially the shirts I wear, I try to always make sure they’re modest and not showing too much. I think its such a good thing to try and be encouraging to the men around, especially the young men seeking the Lord.
And its nice to know they notice and appreciate. This encourages me to keep doing it, cause its like you said, sometimes you think ‘eh, no one really notices’

Love this! I’ve been doing the same thing. It’s hard because I love bikinis
But I realized last summer that it’s not worth it. I was at Seven Peaks and a guy friend of mine said to me, “I don’t even know what to do right now. There are so many girls in bikinis my thoughts are just going crazy.” And my heart was broken. Love you baby girl! Hope to see you sometime soon!
How cute, and good for that boy! I decided once I was married that there is definitely a time and place for a bikini and same with a one piece. If it’s just my husband and I, I’m in a bikini, but if my brother, nephews (who are young and just learning about body parts), or especially my dad are around, I cover up! I don’t want my little boys seeing too much of a girl too soon! Funny, Erica’s comment just caught my eye! I’m basically saying the same thing. (: LOVE YOUR BLOG!
