I missed Saturday session of conference this year because of work so I was reading some of the talks and was reading Hollands talk, called “The Laborers in the Vineyard” and there were a few things I loved.
“..don’t hyperventilate about something that happened at 9:00 in the morning when the grace of God is trying to reward you at 6:00 in the evening–whatever your labor arrangements have been throughout the day.”
“We consume such precious emotional and spiritual capital clinging tenaciously to the memory of a discordant note we struck in a childhood piano recital….”
I sometimes will be annoyed that I wasted so much gas throughout the day and then get stressed about money (I stress about gas a lot for some reason? I think just because its so annoying to me to buy and I feel like I am always filling my tank) or stressed that I didn’t get everything done that when I come home and get to be with all my blessings I keep thinking about those annoying things and I am not as happy as I should be. So I really liked that, because we really should enjoy all the moments of each day and be happy around the people we care about regardless of what happened earlier.
Anyways, just a thought! Off to see Titanic with my sister!
